- How does Ai health screening work at NURA?At NURA, Ai is used to enhance medical images by using advance software, helping doctors identify and highlight areas that may require closer attention during evaluation. Every Ai-assisted finding is reviewed by NURA’s qualified physicians before results are shared with you typically within the same 120-minute visit, with a doctor consultation and digital health report.
- What is REiLI Ai technology?REiLI is Fujifilm’s medical imaging Ai. It uses deep learning, trained on Fujifilm’s extensive imaging database, to help identify patterns in scans that may warrant a closer look supporting radiologist in reading scans more efficiently. At NURA, REiLI assists physician review; all findings are confirmed by qualified doctors before being shared.
- Can Ai detect cancer better than doctors?Ai and doctors work best together that is how NURA is built. Ai-assisted imaging can help physicians spot early risk markers that are difficult to see in routine review, and it reads consistently across thousands of images. But screening judgement, context, and your consultation come from qualified doctors. At NURA, every Ai-assisted finding is reviewed by the medical team before results reach you.
- Is Ai health screening accurate?NURA’s screening is designed to support early detection not to deliver diagnoses, and no screening can identify every condition. Ai-assisted imaging helps physicians identify early risk indicators, and all findings are reviewed by NURA’s medical team before results are shared. If your screening identifies an area of concern, NURA’s doctors will explain it clearly and guide you on appropriate next steps with specialist care.
- What is an ultra-low-dose CT scan?An ultra-low-dose CT is a computed tomography scan engineered to use a significantly lower radiation dose than standard CT imaging while preserving image quality. NURA uses Fujifilm ultra-low-dose CT systems with Ai-supported image processing, which is what makes detailed imaging practical as part of an annual preventive screening habit.
- Is a CT scan safe for annual health screening?NURA uses Fujifilm ultra-low-dose CT systems specifically designed for preventive screening operating at a dose substantially lower than conventional CT imaging. This is what makes annual screening practical. If you are pregnant, may be pregnant, or have specific health concerns, please inform the NURA team and consult your doctor before booking.
- Do I need to fast or get a doctor’s prescription before a NURA screening? No doctor’s referral or prescription is needed to book a NURA screening, and no fasting is required you can walk in at your scheduled time and the team guides you through every step. Pre-screening instructions specific to your package are shared when you book.
- Is my health data private and secure at NURA?Your screening results are shared with you directly through your consultation and digital health report. NURA stores health records securely and individual results remain confidential between you and the medical team.
- Why is NURA based on Japanese health screening?Japan has among the highest life expectancies in the world, supported by a culture where annual preventive screening is a normal habit rather than a response to illness. NURA brings this screening model to India combining Fujifilm’s Japanese medical imaging technology with a structured annual screening designed for people who feel well. The goal is the same: find risk early, act early, and make prevention a habit.
- Does early detection actually improve health outcomes? Many serious conditions including several cancers and heart disease develop silently for years before symptoms appear. When risk indicators are identified at an early stage, treatment options are generally wider and outcomes more manageable than when conditions are found late. Preventive screening helps detect potential health problems early, often before symptoms appear.
- How often should I get a full body health screening?NURA’s packages are designed around annual screening routine, inspired by the once-a-year preventive health culture followed in Japan. Your own doctor may recommend a different frequency based on your age, family history, and health profile; if you have an existing condition, follow your doctor’s guidance first.
- How can I take care of my health in my 20s and 30s?The habits that matter most are often the simplest: getting enough sleep, staying active, eating a balanced diet, managing stress, and understanding your baseline. Most people in their 20s and 30s have never had an objective picture of their own health, which makes it hard to know what to improve. An annual preventive screening gives you that picture early, when small corrections are easiest. NURA’s screenings are designed exactly for adults who feel well and want to stay that way.
- What is the best age to start preventive health screening in India?NURA recommends starting annual preventive screening at 35 and earlier if you have a family history of cancer or heart disease, or specific risk factors. In your 20s and early 30s, a genetic screening can be a useful starting point: it maps inherited risk once, helping you understand what to watch for as you build health habits early.
- I feel healthy do I still need a health screening?Feeling well and being well are not always the same thing. Many serious conditions including several cancers and heart disease develop without symptoms for years. Preventive screening is designed precisely for people who feel healthy: it screens for early risk indicators while there is the most room to act. That is the difference between screening and a sick visit you go because you value your health, not because something feels wrong.
- Is preventive health screening worth it in India?India carries a high burden of lifestyle conditions and cancers that are often identified late, when options are narrower and costs higher. Preventive screening shifts that timeline: identifying risk indicators early generally means simpler interventions and more choices. For adults over 35, annual preventive screening is one of the most effective ways to understand their health, detect risks early and make informed decisions for the future.
- Should I get screened if I have a family history of cancer or heart disease?Family history is one of the strongest reasons to consider preventive screening and to start earlier than the general guidance. NURA’s annual screenings cover early risk indicators for cancers and cardiovascular conditions, and its genetic assessments map inherited risk markers specifically relevant when cancer or heart disease runs in the family. If you have symptoms or a diagnosed condition, consult your doctor first.
- How do I check my overall health before starting a gym routine or diet? Before changing your body, it helps to know where it stands. A baseline preventive screening shows your current cardiovascular health, metabolic markers, and other indicators that are genuinely useful before intense exercise or a significant diet change, so your plan starts from facts, not guesses. NURA’s screening provides that baseline in a single visit: AI-assisted imaging, lab analysis, and a doctor consultation with a digital report you can track progress against year on year.
- Can a health screening tell me how healthy I am right now?A preventive screening gives you a structured snapshot of your current health screening for early indicators across your heart, lungs, metabolic health, and major organ systems, alongside cancer risk panels. It is not a diagnosis and not a substitute for treatment of existing conditions, but it is the most complete objective picture most people will ever have of where their body stands and a baseline to measure every future change against.
- What lifestyle conditions can a preventive screening check for?NURA’s comprehensive packages screen for early indicators across lifestyle conditions including diabetes, heart and vascular health, liver, kidney, lung and thyroid health.
- How can heart disease risk be assessed early?Cardiovascular risk can be assessed before any symptoms appear through indicators like coronary calcium scoring, vascular screening, and metabolic markers. NURA’s screenings include heart and vascular panels within the comprehensive packages, and a focused Heart Health Check (₹10,000, approx. 25 minutes) for those who want to assess this one area specifically. If you have existing symptoms, consult a doctor directly rather than waiting for a screening.
- How can our company initiate a corporate partnership with NURA?You can easily submit an inquiry through the "For Corporates" section on our website by providing your company details. Our corporate wellness team will contact you within one business day to discuss your specific requirements and present a tailored proposal.

- What is the Japanese-style Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT)?The Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) is a highly accurate, non-invasive screening tool used to detect hidden (occult) blood in the stool. At NURA, we utilize a specialized Japanese-style FIT as a primary screening method for colon cancer and other lower gastrointestinal conditions.
- Why is the FIT included in my NURA health screening?Colorectal cancer often begins as non-cancerous polyps that may bleed slightly, long before any visible symptoms appear. The FIT is designed to detect these microscopic traces of blood, allowing for early intervention. It is a vital component of our comprehensive 120-minute preventive screening packages for both men and women.
- How is the FIT different from older stool tests?Unlike traditional fecal occult blood tests, the FIT specifically uses antibodies to target human hemoglobin from the lower digestive tract. This makes it significantly more accurate and reduces the chances of false-positive results caused by the foods you eat or the medications you take.
- Do I need to fast or change my diet before the test? No. One of the biggest advantages of the FIT is its convenience. You do not need to fast, restrict your diet, or stop taking your routine medications prior to collecting the sample.
- How is the sample collected? The FIT is a simple at-home test. When you book your NURA screening, you will be provided with a sanitary, easy-to-use collection kit.
- Collect: Use the provided brush or stick to collect a small sample from your stool.
- Secure: Place the sample into the specialized container and seal it tightly.
- Submit: Bring the sealed container with you to your scheduled NURA center appointment.
- What does a "negative" result mean?A negative result means that no hidden blood was detected in your stool sample. While this is an excellent indicator of colon health, we recommend continuing with your routine preventive screenings at NURA to monitor for any future changes.
- What does a "positive" result mean? Does it mean I have cancer?A positive result simply means that traces of blood were found in your stool—it does not automatically mean you have cancer. The bleeding could be caused by benign conditions such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, or polyps. During your final doctor consultation at NURA, our medical professionals will explain your results and recommend the appropriate next steps, which typically involve a follow-up procedure like a colonoscopy to identify the exact source of the bleeding.
- How often should I take this test? For optimal preventive care, clinical guidelines generally recommend taking the FIT once a year. Our NURA doctors will provide personalized recommendations on your screening frequency based on your age, lifestyle, and individual health profile.
- When will NURA send the FIT kit to my home, and when will they not?Once your screening appointment is successfully booked and confirmed, NURA Team will contact one or two days before the screening date dispatches the FIT kit to your registered address so you can collect the sample comfortably at home. However, we will not dispatch the kit via courier if your appointment is scheduled within a very short timeframe (such as a next-day after 5pm appointment booked or same-day booking) where standard delivery is not feasible. In these instances, our team will advise you to either collect the kit directly from the NURA center prior to your appointment or utilize our center's facilities to provide the sample on the day of your visit.
- How far can the FIT kits be dispatched?
Home delivery of the FIT kit is available within the local city and municipal limits of our operating NURA centers about 30 to 35 kmpl from NURA Center (e.g., Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Gurugram, Calicut, etc.).
If you are an outstation guest traveling to a NURA center from another city or state, standard courier dispatch may not reach you in time. We recommend coordinating with our guest support team—you can either collect the kit upon your arrival in the city or complete the sample collection at the center during your appointment. - Is the FIT kit provided only with the Comprehensive Men and Women Health Screening packages? The FIT kit is provided for packages that specifically include our Colon Cancer screening panel. This includes our signature Comprehensive Men’s Health Screening and Comprehensive Women’s Health Screening our packages. The FIT kit is not included in our additional packages like Genetic Screening & Focused check-ups (such as the Heart Health Check, Lung Health Check, or Metabolic 180 packages), as those are designed to screen specific organs rather than the full body.
- Is there an additional charge for the FIT kit or its delivery?
No. The FIT kit, the home delivery service (within city limits), and the laboratory analysis are provided completely free of charge as part of your eligible NURA screening package.
However, please note our cancellation policy: If you choose to cancel your appointment after the FIT kit has already been delivered to you, you will be required to cover the cost of the kit along with the associated delivery fees. Alternatively, to avoid these charges, you may return the unused kit directly to your nearest NURA center at your own expense.
- What is the NURA Genetic Screening test?It is an advanced, once-in-a-lifetime blood test that maps your genome to identify your inherited risk for various lifestyle diseases and common cancers. It helps you understand your body's natural predispositions so you can make informed, proactive health decisions.
- How is Genetic Screening different from NURA’s standard AI health screening? While our standard 120-minute AI health screening uses imaging and lab tests to assess your current health, the Genetic Screening looks at your DNA to understand what conditions you might be predisposed to developing in the future.
- What types of Genetic Screening packages are available?NURA offers three specific genetic packages: Men’s Genetic Screening (₹15,000), Women’s Genetic Screening (₹15,000), and a Genetic Nutrition Panel (₹18,000).
- Who should get a Genetic Screening?
The screening is ideal for asymptomatic, healthy individuals who want to take charge of their future wellbeing. It is highly recommended for anyone with a family history of cancer, heart disease, or metabolic conditions.
Note: The Men's and Women's screenings are for individuals aged 16 and above, while the Nutrition Panel is open to anyone above 10 years old. - How is the test conducted? Does it require fasting? The process is simple and quick. It requires only a standard 3-4ml blood draw, which is sent to our lab for genetic extraction and genome-wide genotyping. No fasting or special preparation is required.
- How often do I need to take this test?Only once. Because your DNA does not change over time, this is a one-time screening that will provide you with lifelong health insights.
- What conditions are covered under the Men’s and Women’s Genetic panels?Using advanced Polygenic Risk Scoring (PRS), these panels identify inherited risks for major cancers (including colon, lung, liver, breast, and prostate) as well as lifestyle conditions (such as heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes).
- What does the Genetic Nutrition Panel cover? The Nutrition Panel analyzes how your specific genes influence your diet and wellness. It provides actionable insights into your vitamin and mineral absorption, metabolism, food sensitivities (like salt or trans fats), and weight management tendencies.
- Is this a diagnostic test? No. NURA's Genetic Screening is a preventive tool designed to measure genetic susceptibility. It does not diagnose any current illness, but rather identifies potential risks so you and your doctor can focus on early prevention.
- Are my genetic test results kept private?Yes, absolute privacy is our standard. Your genetic data and digital health reports are stored securely and remain strictly confidential between you and the NURA medical team.
- Is the radiation from a NURA CT scan dangerous? No. While standard diagnostic CT scans use moderate amounts of ionizing radiation, NURA uses an ultra-low-dose CT system explicitly designed for safe, routine screening. The radiation levels are so low that they pose no significant risk to your health.
- Exactly how much radiation will I be exposed to?A NURA ultra-low-dose CT scan exposes you to approximately 0.1 to 0.2 millisieverts (mSv). To put this in perspective:
- It is about 97% less radiation than a standard diagnostic CT scan.
- It is roughly equivalent to the cosmic radiation you naturally absorb during a round-trip transatlantic flight.
- It is significantly lower than the normal "background radiation" everyone on Earth absorbs from the environment every year (which averages about 3.0 mSv).
- If the radiation is so low, how are the images clear enough for doctors to read? This is where NURA's artificial intelligence comes in. NURA utilizes Fujifilm's advanced AI image processing technology called FCT PixelShine. Historically, low radiation meant blurry or "noisy" images. PixelShine uses deep learning algorithms to instantly clear up the noise from an ultra-low-dose scan, producing sharp, high-definition images that rival traditional high-dose CT scans.
- Is it safe to get a NURA scan every year?Yes. Standard diagnostic CTs are usually only recommended when you have a specific symptom because of their higher radiation doses. Because NURA operates at such a remarkably low dose, it is entirely safe to incorporate into your annual preventive health checkup routine.
- Can the scan itself cause cancer? With standard medical radiation, there is always a very tiny, theoretical long-term risk. However, at the ultra-low doses used by NURA (which are below what you receive naturally from the environment each year), the risk is considered negligible. The life-saving benefit of catching cancer or heart disease in Stage 1 dramatically outweighs any theoretical risk from the scan.
- Are there people who should NOT get a NURA scan?Yes. Pregnant women or women who suspect they might be pregnant should generally avoid any elective or preventive imaging that involves ionizing radiation. Always inform the medical staff if there is a chance you could be pregnant.
- Does the CT Calcium Score for my heart use the same low radiation?Yes. The CT Calcium Score, which looks for plaque buildup in your coronary arteries, is performed using the same ultra-low-dose protocols, ensuring your heart health is evaluated safely.
- I recently had a standard CT scan at a hospital. How long should I wait before doing a NURA screening? While the radiation from a NURA scan is exceptionally low and adds very little to your total exposure, general radiological guidelines suggest a gap of at least 6 months between elective screening CTs if you recently had a high-dose diagnostic CT scan for the same body area (such as the chest or abdomen). However, there are exceptions:
- Different Body Parts: If your recent CT was for an unrelated area (such as a CT of the head, neck, or a limb), you do not necessarily need to wait.
- Always Consult the Team: Always inform the NURA medical team about any recent scans, X-rays, or radiation therapy. The doctor will evaluate your cumulative exposure and advise whether your screening should proceed or be temporarily postponed.
